The Aggony Code

The Aggony Code -

§1 Clan structure

The Brotherhood of Aggony is ruled by a democratic council consisting of all full members. A full member means any member who has completed the 1pain1-apprentice process and been rewarded with the right to wear the 'Aggony'-tag.

§2 The Aggony Council

The council is the primary decision making organ of the clan. Decisions are made through a two-thirds majority vote, either after a 5 day voting time or earlier, if a clear majority of the clan is behind the decision. The council has the deciding role in all matters concerning the clan.

A member of the council has the right to create their own propositions.

§3 Clan Meetings

The council can agree to organize a clan meeting over a particularly difficult topic or decision. A clan meeting needs to be proclaimed two days in advance, and a protocol is to be presented to the council for those absent, clearly stating the suggestion made by the clan meeting. All decisions made in a clan meeting need to then be ratified by a council vote.

§4 Clan Elders

Every January, the Council will vote among itself three elders. Their task is to adjudicate in disciplinary issues, solving disputes between members and suggest a course of action in disciplinary matters for the council , if deemed necessary. The elders are also tasked with monitoring inactivity within the clan. Overall their role is to act as advisors and adjudicators in disciplinary matters.

Voting is done through an open vote, where each full member gets to nominate three others. The three members with the most nominations will then be presented with the chance to become a clan elder. If any of them turns down the position, it will offered to the member who got the 4th most nominations and so on until the clan has three elders.

If a member resigns as clan elder, a new round of nominations will take place. A clan elder can be removed from the position through a normal council vote.

§5 Recruitment process

Recruitment to Aggony is through invite only. Invites are made through a council decision. Invites can’t be made without full consensus regarding the invitation. This is to ensure that all recruitment is carefully deliberated and rate of growth remains steady. The 1pain1-period will take roughly three months or more, if deemed necessary. The 1pain1-period is a period of learning and proving. Aggony offers its new members training in the art of Total War and in return we expect our recruits to prove their dedication and spirit. Promotion is gained once the Council deems that the 1pain1 is ready to be tested and they pass their test.

§6 Clan Administration

At the moment the technical administration of the clan website and forums isn’t directly governed by the Aggony Council. The administrative tasks are handled by a group of members with administrative rights, with additional rights being given on a need-to basis by the other admins. The council can, if it so wants to, exert direct control over who has what admin rights to the forum and website within the clan.

§7 Inactivity

Members are expected to stay in touch and keep the clan posted about any periods of inactivity. As inactivity can be seen as any extended period of being outside the social interaction of the clan (forum, steam contact). This isn’t tied to playing activity, which the clan doesn’t attempt to moderate.

The clan is tolerant of inactivity, but a period of extended inactivity without notification is grounds for revoking Aggony-status on the basis of a proposition by the clan elders. If a member loses their Aggony-status due to inactivity, they can request the council to restore their status upon their return. However the council is free to deny this request if there are sufficient grounds for not reinstating them as full brothers.
