The track to the trailer of history channel's "Vikings". Anything to do with antiquity to medieval scandinavia will certainly allure me.

you should read Ceacer's civil war . a critical time with germania, which is a troublesome time with scandinavia and germania when they ultamitely split into clans with numerous names as that was appropriate. The Romans never penetrated with troops and claimed land. but they took and ransomed plenty of Germanians livestock. (humans, foods.vegetation, money)

Actually I love all that stuff. The ancient pagan peoples.

But yeah, the vikings, they deserve their own category. Norse legends and mythology is simply absolutely badass.

I'll check it out Reborn, thanks :)

I double checked The Civil War and there wasnt any encounters with germania as they dont go that far north so sorry for the confusion even though its still a good book.

Actually this book http://www.amazon.com/Gods-And-Legions-N…e/dp/0756783984 is a novel that encounters the germans and goes a little into their culture plus a great read about one of the last great pagan Roman emperors.

Ok so I'll throw up a little old school death metal album I still listen to upon the occasion of the head banging.
Entombed - Left Hand path - full album

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YLJWhpZsoA

Or a more straight forward deep purple metal Comets on fire - Blue tomb a real shame this guys broke up
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpclJIgW6…aXhJrA&index=13

Or a straight up praise of drinking? Gogol Bordello's "Alcohol"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fmZCve02…WaXhJrA&index=2
The victor breeds enmity. The defeated lie down in distress. The peaceful rest in happiness; having given up both victory and defeat. The Buddha
