I thought his murderer had a reasonable chance with the insanity plea because he had PTSD and documented/legitmate psychological issues...then I remembered the trial was in Texas.

In regards to the movie, I haven't seen it but is Eastwood's work afterall. I reckon he knows what he is doing.

Texas actually declared "Chris Kyle Day" Feb. 2nd ... so there was no chance for the murderer. Besides that whole insanity plea is and always can be a scapegoat.

it's not a scapegoat, my mom is a psychiatrical nurse, those guys are not having any more freedom then in prison

Hmm you guys know the guy in the movie is nothing like the real guy? If you read his book he's like the Polar opposite of the guy portrayed in the movie.
